Torghänget
This summer, Sankt Knuts Square transforms into Torghänget – a vibrant place centered around community, play, and relaxation. Take a seat in a deck chair, grab some summer reading from the book cabinet, or challenge a friend to chess, tic-tac-toe, or a classic game of hopscotch. Torghänget offers something for everyone and is also home to the colorful Ystad sign.

Sankt Knuts Torg
On 18 June at 18:00, this year’s Sommarhängen will be officially opened – Ystad’s two summer venues for community and experiences. Torghänget at Sankt Knuts Torg and Hamnhänget at Hamnplan invite you to a summery evening filled with music, mingling, and joy.
Programme – Sankt Knuts Torg, from 18:00:

▪ Live music by Daniel Bentzen & Gustaf Brandt
▪ Local flavours from Lunnarps Mejeri and Lilla Rokaboda
▪ Popcorn for all
The evening then continues at Hamnplan – on foot or with Lilla Tåget (the Little Train).

The Ystad Sign
The new, colorful Ystad sign has quickly become a popular photo spot and serves as a clear landmark pointing toward the town center.
Outdoor Chess
Challenge a friend to a game of chess in the shade of the square’s greenery. The chessboard is open to anyone who wants to test their strategic skills.
Tic-Tac-Toe
Play the classic game of tic-tac-toe and see who can get three in a row first. A fun and simple activity for both kids and adults.
Hopscotch
Play hopscotch on the square’s paving stones and rediscover the joyful play of childhood. It’s a great way to move around and have fun together.
Relax
Take a break and rest in one of the comfortable deck chairs placed around the square. Perfect for a moment of relaxation in the summer sun.
Ystad Visitor Center
At Sankt Knuts Square you’ll find the Ystad Visitor Center – our tourist information office. Here you can get tips on sights and pick up maps and brochures.
Ystads Art Museum
Ystad Art Museum is a central place for art and culture, offering exhibitions ranging from classic painting to modern contemporary art.
